Oh hello there! How are things lately? Have you been finding yourself sprinting through each week or moving with intention?
I can’t remember where I read this principle, but it’s been resounding in my mind recently: Alignment over Hustle. I’ve spent a lot of my life pushing myself to do more, get so much done. For a long time I placed myself in an environment where there was always something to be done. I felt guilty for relaxing “too much”. And it’s difficult to get out of that mentality.
But over the past year I’ve heard variations of the message to “Act Once You’re Ready And Not Before”. It’s such a shift from our typical mindset, which emphasizes pushing as hard as we can, not giving up, and working through however we feel in order to achieve. But how would we act if we knew we were always supported? I think this is such a powerful question. Stop and think about that. Yes, life can be short, but we also have all the time in the world to achieve what we’d like to achieve. There are no rules. No rules saying that if we want to write a book, we have to write it in a year. No rules saying that if we want to start a business, we need to do it before we have kids. What would we do if we knew we could always achieve our goals?
And so, my friends, I encourage you to act in alignment rather than in hustle mode. Act when it feels right, not before. Act in a way that feels organic, and not forceful.
Finally, to wrap up this post, I’ll share this quote from “Journey to the heart” by Melody Beattie (a yogi favorite):
“Learn to ride the waves of energy in your life. Learn to wait for the right time to take action. Learn to wait until your senses, your emotions, your body, and the universe give you the signal you need.”
Postscript: I was actually looking for another quote in this book and could not find it, but the one above kept presenting itself. I guess it’s meant to be here. <3
