This too shall pass

Hello, Wonderful!

I hope you’re well!

If you are Christian, I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Easter. The fantastic weather on Sunday in New Jersey made it feel even more special. If you don’t celebrate Easter, I hope you got to enjoy the great weather anyway!

This Easter felt good. I’m not sure if it was the priest’s homily, the presence of my family, the good vibrations of everyone in the church, or all of the above, but I felt very light and open upon leaving mass. I knew I had to meditate in that state! So I went home and meditated outside in the backyard. The open feeling remained, and the sounds of birds singing became the soundtrack to my stillness.

It made me think about Easter, the experience Jesus went through, and how it can relate to us in our own lives. Specifically, that we all go through tough times in our lives (granted they probably aren’t as severe as Jesus’ tough time!), but I hope we all retain the faith that the difficult times aren’t permanent. That it may take some time, but we are meant to be free of difficulties. They are not meant to last. Much of what I write focuses on getting into a positive mindset. Here I want to recognize that we do go through hard times, and we can genuinely feel like crap (and that’s okay!). But with this Easter season, I hope we can take a look at our own lives and recognize either 1) what the hard times were, and how things worked out afterward, or 2) what is difficult in our lives right now, with the acceptance that it is only temporary.
